Dee Hall Duke, Reflective Introspective, 2011, Watermedia, 22x30

Reflective Introspective began with the concept of inner vision. An Introspective or a response to the question , "Who am I?".  The process dictated as I dropped the color onto the wet paper.  I was concentrating on the physical elments within...DNA, cells, vessels. I stepped back and observed that the paint had revealed to me the hand of God reaching down from heaven.  This thrilled me because of the spiritual significance in my life.  Eventually, I also wanted to include the people in my life because I am such a "people person". Mirrors have actually been installed in the final piece to bring an interactive quality to the painting. I feel this also invites the viewers to "reflect" upon themselves.
