In this performance Fletcher and Reichert contextualized the American self-help movement by attempting to apply its principles to art. The artists began the performance by delivering a lecture about the history of self-help literature including quotes from 'Poor Richard's Almanac' (by Benjamin Franklin), 'Think and Grow Rich' (by Napoleon Hill), and 'How To Win Friends and Influence People' (by Dale Carnegie).
Then the artists introduced a certified Dale Carnegie instructor who taught the audience how to improve their sales technique. Ms. Kaye Marie Ribiero, then president of the San Francisco Dale Carnegie Institute for Sales and Management worked with Fletcher and Reichert and other audience volunteers.
